accessible via I-565 from
I-65 as well as by U.S.
Highways 231, 431, 72,  
and Alabama Highways
20 and 53.

Huntsville's roots as a
lazy cotton town in the
1950's were dramatically
changed when the Army's
missile projects were
consolidated and moved
to Redstone Arsenal. In
1960, NASA created its
largest field center, the
George C. Marshall
Space Flight Center, in
Huntsville.
